
Salma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimmyenez on September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. Her career began in Mexico, where she starred in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) that was a huge success and earned her an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were but some of her numerous Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) that she also wrote, made her the first Mexican actress to be recognized for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6Additionally, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations.
