Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 until May 7, 2010 in the United States of America) was an American actor and singer. Her appearances in films were during the 1940s and 1950s as well as on television in the 1950s and 1960s. With the professional name Adele St. Mara, she was signed to Columbia Pictures[citation required] and gained experience in the studio's "B" feature films as well as comedy shorts. This title was quickly changed to Adele Mara. Mara was receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters as Rita Hayworth's character in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks is in the role of Alias Boston Blackie (1942) as the sister of an innocently accused and freed convict. When her Columbia contract was up after which she moved to Republic Pictures where she was an regular on outdoor adventures and westerns. She was a part of in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch which starred John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima in which John Agar was John's lover, California Passage and Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
