Amanda Brugel

Brugel was the only Canadian cast member in Season 1 of the show and was only seen occasionally. The actress has been a cast member ever since. While discussing her role, and its similarities to reality, Brugel may connect to issues of racism and negative treatment she's endured in other areas of her life. She explained: "I lean heavily on race, and as I mentioned, I have encountered situations where I felt that I was treated like the slave because I am black." Although I have never experienced physical abuse because of the color of my skin, I certainly received insults verbally. All racial insults that have felt like a hit, or impact on me, I could use in the show when someone uses words that are tough and painful. I use that feeling in almost every scene because I feel like she's punched at least once in all of the scenes." Amanda Amanda Amanda
